Job Title: Assembly Operator
Location: New Hartford, CT
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am – 3:30 pm
Pay: $16.35/hr.
Job Type: Temp to Hire

Our client in New Hartford, CT is a global leader in energy-efficient technologies. They are currently hiring for a 1st shift Assembly Operator.

In this role, you will assemble parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a workstation or multiple workstations. You will utilize hand tools, small power tools, and other specialized equipment to perform the assigned job.

Requirements


Essential duties and responsibilities:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Read detailed written work instructions, to use as guidance for the proper assembly of products and product parts.

  • Place fully assembled items in boxes and bins after they come off the assembly line, then sort these items into their designated locations.

  • Perform set-up and operations, such as burnishing, drilling, press assembly, paint, manual assembly, wash parts, wash tanks start-up procedures, magnetizing, encapsulation, wire termination, electrical checks, and soldering.

  • Assemble components and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies using hand tools and power tools, including air guns.

  • Perform quality checks, inspect visually, and test finished units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements, and complete and maintain proper production records.

  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and verniers.

  • Adheres to all safety rules and protocols.



Critical Competencies:

  • Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.

  • Mathematics: have a basic grasp of mathematics and know how to read measuring devices to perform required assembly and inspection duties.

  • Attention to detail: ability to spot small defects and potential problems in products.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School education or equivalent, is preferred.

  • Up to 3 months of assembly experience is preferred, but not required.

Lifting requirements include but are not limited to the following; regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an industrial environment including moving mechanical parts, various oil, grease, and coolants, and possible distracting noise.
