About the Position
Machine Operator Technician - Entry-Level/Trainee
1st Shift | $21.00/hour
We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to train as a Machine Operator Technician in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with machinery, figuring out how equipment operates, and solving problems when something isn't running correctly.
You will be trained to operate and monitor blow molding and related production equipment. Throughout your shift, you will be responsible for keeping your assigned machinery running properly, watching the production process, checking the quality of the product coming off the line, and recognizing when something needs to be adjusted.
This is not simply a machine-loading or button-pushing position. Operators need to understand what the machine is doing and learn how changes to the equipment and process affect the finished product.
What You'll Be Doing
During the course of your shift, you will:
• Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down production machinery according to established procedures.
• Continuously watch the machine and production process to make sure equipment is operating properly.
• Inspect finished products for quality issues and identify when the process is beginning to move outside acceptable specifications.
• Learn how to make basic mechanical and process adjustments to correct production problems and keep equipment running efficiently.
• Troubleshoot issues when a machine isn't operating correctly, determine possible causes, and make appropriate adjustments within your training level.
• Use basic hand and mechanical tools to perform adjustments, changeovers, setups, and minor maintenance.
• Assist with mold and tooling changes and learn the proper procedures for setting equipment back up for production.
• Monitor machine settings and operating conditions and understand how adjustments can affect product quality.
• Identify unusual sounds, movement, leaks, jams, or other signs that equipment may need attention.
• Work with maintenance and more experienced technicians when a problem requires additional mechanical or technical support.
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate production and quality information as required.
• Keep your machine and surrounding work area clean, organized, and safe.
Who We're Looking For
Previous blow molding experience would be a plus, but we are willing to train the right person. We're especially interested in candidates who have a steady work history and have worked around machinery, tools, or mechanical equipment.
Experience could come from manufacturing, automotive repair, machine operation, equipment maintenance, mechanical assembly, injection molding, plastics manufacturing, or another hands-on mechanical environment.
You should be comfortable using tools, have good mechanical instincts, and be willing to learn how to troubleshoot rather than immediately relying on someone else every time a machine needs an adjustment.
The right person will be dependable, mechanically curious, safety-conscious, and willing to learn the equipment from the ground up.
