About the Position

Jaci Carroll Staffing is currently recruiting Machine Operators in the Thomaston area. This is a third-shift position, with training conducted on either first or second shift. The pay rate is $18.94 per hour. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with the potential for long-term employment.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe, efficient completion of the assembly process in a high quality and repeatable manner.

  • Perform duties to complete a wide variety of complicated machine setups (such as dip tube changes).

  • Perform quality checks during a production run by visually observing the condition of finished units form multiple machines per the quality plan.

  • Measure, examine and test assembly units to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. Adjust machine or fixtures as necessary.

  • Understand and use a range of precision instruments.

  • Work from verbal instruction.

  • Perform required Preventative Maintenance (PM) on Assembly machines to maintain production equipment and reduce downtime.

  • Identify efficiency improvement, cost savings and quality improvement opportunities.

  • Participate in EH&S reviews and investigation of quality issues.

  • Assist with problem solving - root cause analysis and corrective action.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspections results and production results.

  • Ensure outgoing products follow required specifications.

  • Alerts supervisor or other management in the event of problems concerning safety, quality or performance.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic shop math and computer skills (loading/unloading programs).

  • Basic machine troubleshooting skills.

  • Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on operational needs.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively, with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to solve mechanical problems on machines.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with dimensional electronic and manual inspection gages.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English, and follow written and verbal instruction.

  • Ability to work well with others and communicate across shifts.

  • Strong work ethic and a safety-first orientation.

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and report data on machine performance.

  • Hands on mechanical aptitude; basic machine electronics understanding.

  • Ability to learn, grow and adapt to changing business needs; has a forward-thinking outlook.


Desired Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Technical schooling or technical certification.

  • Experience in a high-volume production environment.

Compensation: $18.94/hr
