Location: Greater Waterbury Area
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $125,000 annually
Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours may vary depending on workflow, business demands, and operational priorities. The Operations Controller is expected to provide the flexibility necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Medical Insurance: Company contributes $4,800 annually toward the medical plan selected by the employee.
401(k): Company provides the maximum employer match permitted by law.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Controller to oversee the day-to-day financial, administrative, and operational functions of our business. This is a highly visible leadership position that works closely with ownership to support financial decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the company operates effectively on a daily basis.
The ideal Operations Controller is a well-rounded business professional who combines strong accounting expertise with operational leadership. This position requires someone who enjoys being actively involved in the business, can lead by example, and is comfortable managing a wide variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
The Operations Controller will be responsible for:
Overseeing all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and account reconciliations.
Managing daily office operations and administrative functions to ensure efficient business processes.
Preparing timely and accurate financial reports for ownership and assisting with strategic financial planning.
Developing, implementing, and improving internal controls and business processes.
Managing banking relationships, cash flow, treasury functions, electronic banking, and financing activities. Experience with Asset-Based Lending (ABL) is highly desirable.
Working directly with ownership on operational improvements, financial analysis, and business decision-making.

Qualifications
Previous experience as an Operations Controller or Controller in a similar financial leadership role.
Strong accounting and bookkeeping experience, including financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger management.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Proven leadership experience managing, coaching, and developing office staff.
Experience managing banking relationships, treasury functions, and electronic banking.
Asset-Based Lending (ABL) experience is strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Excel.
Experience in precious metals, metal finishing, or plating operations is a plus.
Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
