We are currently recruiting for a Planner for a manufacturer in the Watertown/Thomaston area. This is a contract to hire position with pay between $15-$20/hr depending on prior work experience. The primary responsibility for this job will be the creation of production schedules for their assigned value stream while ensuring the raw materials are available to support the schedule.

Essential responsibilities:

• Managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, and interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics

• Accurately maintain part purchasing records for selected vendors, using SAP in an ISO 9000 environment

• Planning assigned products, recognizing forecasted requirements and critical resources with special coordination for new development projects

• Maintain detailed MRP component build schedules to maximize manufacturing uptime for dispensing manufacturing and vendor reliability

• Communicate with other personnel regarding all aspects of metal parts supply including delivery status, production schedules, lead times, revisions, and OTIF calculations

• Place orders and act as a primary contact with subcontractors and assigned vendors to support manufacturing plan

• Identify customer requirements not on order and develop supply forecasts with customer services, sales and manufacturing to best utilize production capacities

• Manage schedules to achieve service level targets while maintaining inventory objectives

• Collect, build and publish planning data as required to help improve manufacturing performance.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in production planning preferred

• Expert applied knowledge of forecasting, MRP, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines

• Proficiency with MS Office suite, with advanced skills using Excel

• Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills Looking for an individual with leadership skills and with the ability to self-direct.
