About the Role



Currently recruiting for an Accounting Specialist for a manufacturer in the Naugatuck Valley area. This is a full time, contract to hire opening with pay depending on prior experience. The Accounting Specialist will assist the Controller with duties as follows:

  • Cost accounting

  • Inventory maintenance

  • Employee Insurance- General, Workers' Compensation, Benefits, 401k

  • Multi-state sales tax reporting

  • Monthly reconciliation and back up of all accounts

  • Some HR duties for the department, including onboarding new hires and terminations


  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related field

  • Prior work experience in accounting or a related field

  • Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, economic principles, financial markets, banking, financial data analysis and reporting.

  • Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts recievables functions

  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.

  • Prior experience in financial project management

  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
