About the Role
Currently recruiting for an Accounting Specialist for a manufacturer in the Naugatuck Valley area. This is a full time, contract to hire opening with pay depending on prior experience. The Accounting Specialist will assist the Controller with duties as follows:
Employee Insurance- General, Workers' Compensation, Benefits, 401k
Multi-state sales tax reporting
Monthly reconciliation and back up of all accounts
Some HR duties for the department, including onboarding new hires and terminations
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related field
Prior work experience in accounting or a related field
Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, economic principles, financial markets, banking, financial data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts recievables functions
Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
Prior experience in financial project management
Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
